This was the last minute and a half of the display, and was much better than what we saw on new years eve.

Melbourne Laneways Commision 2009 / 10

I found this in the latest Beat (Melbourne Street Press) magazine, in the Art of the City section. Hopefully I'll get to see this public art next weekend as one of the artworks is best viewed around midday. This is part of the City of Melbourne Laneways Commision.

UPDATE 29/1: The Problem I found with these installations I found most of them to be finnished. Hopefully I'll catch the new ones next year.

Grand Piano Lady

This was up at the Age.com.au yesterday, click here to see the full story.

I've seen this Lady play around Bourke street in Melbourne but didn't know her story, which I found it very interesting to read.

She hasn't looked back. ''Children come up to me, people of all classes and all walks of life,'' she said.
''I just love being there and I feel that they should hear the music. The way I feel when I play and the way I feel when I'm among the people, it just feels really good.
''It's something I wouldn't get from a concert hall because only certain people go there. But this is for everyone.''
