Exhibitions this Weekend

Two street art exhibitions to check out this weekend, hopefully I’ll have time to see them. Found these out via the Melbourne Fringe Festival website.

Melbourne Stencil Festival is on at Yarra Sculpture Gallery 117 Vere Street Abbotsford according to the Fringe website (found here), but the stencilfestival lists Collingwood Underground, 44 Harmsworth St. Collingwood(Just across the pedestrian footbridge from the Yarra Sculpture Gallery) as another address, which makes me confused. But easily dealt with because both locations are fairly close. EDIT 3/10/09: Found out today after going there it's in two venues, well worth it.

Second we have Urban Art Agenda #3 at Famous When Dead Gallery (Urban Art Agenda) 207 Victoria St West Melbourne, has featured artwork by A1one (Tehran), Ananda Nahu (Salvador, Brazil), David Soukup (Chicago), ELK (Canberra), El Moocho (Melbourne), Izolog (Salvador, Brazil), HaHa (Melbourne), Jana and JS (Salzburg), Jef Aerosol (Lille), Kenji Nakayama (Boston), Mandarina Brausewetter (Vienna), M-City (Gdynia), Orticanoodles (Milan), Ozi (São Paulo), Penny (London), Skran (Lisboa), and XOOOOX (Berlin).

Work in Progress

On the weekend I went past Hossier Lane in the CBD. Usually when I'm down that way I check this lane way out as they are always updating it with new Street Art. I and many other people were lucky to see street artists in action, when normally this is something you don't see, only the completed work. Later I'll be posting a video show footage from Saturday, Sunday and another day to show the finished work.

Rash on ABC 2

ABC 2 (the digital station) is playing Rash tomorrow 8:30pm Sunday, 18 May 2008 and 3:00pm Sunday, May 25.

ABC describes its as 'The spirit of rebellion is being channelled into street art and these visual conversations are spreading across the walls of Melbourne. RASH offers a rare look into the graffiti artists' view of the world.'

I as yet haven't seen it, but it looks good, and show's an insight into street art and melbourne.

Taken back in 2006, location and date unknown.

From Old Film # 2

Taken back in 2006, location and date unknown.

Blank Space # 5

I recently found finished a film that has been sitting in my old film SLR since 2006, and found some street art pictures on there. I don't know exact location of these and times but they were all taken around the 2006 mark. So lets go back in time. I've got about 10 of these pictures so you'll see them over the next 2 weeks.

Enjoy.
